One definition of the word yoga is “to join”. The practice of yoga is to join the breath with a movement or stance (pose). Gestalt is loosely defined as “wholeness” and brings us to the present moment in our bodies. Horses live in the present moment.
Yoga in combination with Equine Gestalt is designed to assist you to become fully present and in tune to your body and the messages within.
Experience connection to your physical form during the morning yoga practice with Marissa and begin to harness your body as a partner in your healing journey.
During the afternoon, we will continue the connection, presence and somatic awareness within as Brenda & the healing horses provide opportunities to more fully explore your partnership with your body and its messages.
No prior yoga experience is required to feel the benefits of this preparatory practice. All yoga levels are welcome. Please bring a yoga mat, blocks, blanket and strap if you have them and wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Some props and mats are available for those who have never done yoga before.
No horse experience needed. No riding will occur. All activities are on the ground.

Marissa Krupa is a 200-hour yoga instructor who specializes in trauma-informed practices. She received her 200-hour training at Chicago Yoga Center in 2012, and has extensive training in trauma-informed practices from her eight-year career as a K-12 educator. Marissa has practiced yoga and meditation for over 20 years. It has helped her with anxiety, PTSD, and trauma recovery. She is honored for the opportunity to support your healing journey.
